Welcome
to the United Outreach of El Dorado County Website (UO). We are a group
of volunteers dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable shelter to
house the homeless of El Dorado County. This shelter is open in the
evening during the winter and is available to anyone, regardless of age
or gender, who needs food and a place to sleep. Providing a comfortable shelter is our immediate goal. The mid-range goal is to help clients secure jobs, training, medical assistance and permanent housing; and the ultimate goal is to help them become contributing members of society. We are not permanently funded by any government entity, although various county agencies have provided supplemental support as budgets allow. United Outreach receives most of its funding from concerned citizens, contributing churches and generous corporations. In addition, although we employ a paid staff of trained professionals, we rely on community volunteers to supplement and support our staff in preparing food and providing comfort for our clients. Would you be willing to help? To contact us, our address is: United Outreach P.O. Box 1675 Diamond Springs, CA 95619 Art Edwards, President United Outreach of El Dorado County |
